This is gonna be a bit of an unusual journal. It's the first storytime journal in a long time. But here's a.... Thing that happened to me a little while back.

So, I was browsing the Internet, minding my business. All of a sudden, someone messaged me (I won't give out names). They asked if I'd like to RP. Normally I would just ignore notes like these since I do more than that, plus it's someone I hardly knew. But I was feeling a bit more accommodating that day, so I gave them my Discord. From there we started talking about various interests we're into and brainstorming various scenarios.

Unfortunately, around that time I got very busy. Aside from work, I also had tons of errands and other matters to attend to. With the both of us having different time zones and working hours, aside from the typical "Hi", we barely got to talk outside from that.

Then, around last Friday, they messaged me again. We talk a bit. They ask if I'm still busy. I say yes, but I should be free by Saturday evening. I thought I left a level headed, normal response. But apparently not. What did they say in return? "No. Just forget about it." They unfriended me shortly after.

That... Really had me taken aback for a bit. I get it. I LOVE RPing too, but there are times where life simply gets in the way. Sometimes I'm simply not in the mood. It depends. Heck, even when it comes to friends I primarily RP with, we often times talk about other things, whether it be games, movies, TV, or art.

The next day, they sent me another friend request. At that point, I wasn't gonna risk it again, so I blocked them and left it at that. Can't have that. Like I need people to be patient with me. Things happen.

Because of this, I'm gonna be much more picky as to who I add on Discord, even more so compared to before. Plus, for any new watchers who wish to chat with me, PLEASE don't do so for the purpose of RP. I'd like to get to know you better first beforehand. Thank you.

Okay… Let’s get this show on the road…

2024 will be very different activity wise, meaning that, while I still intend to draw art-wise, that’s gonna take a backseat in favor of more writing and literature.

It’s something I’ve been experimenting with for the last few months. So far, pretty good. I already have three bios posted, so expect more not just character wise, but also lore and world building wise.

I’ve seen some of my friends over the years do this, and they do it VERY well. So I want to expand upon that (no pun intended).

Also, you’ll find me on Discord these days as that’s where I’m most active. Been making an effort to chat more. Though, for today at least, I cleared ALL dms to start over. If any one of you want to chat with me, hit me up. My tag is cheekymagebatshi (Please be of legal age otherwise I’m not adding you).

I’ve been pretty busy these past few days, but I should have some pressure eased off me come tomorrow. I intend to be back activity wise FULL FORCE.

Here’s hoping 2024 will be a good one.

2023 is on its way out. Holy Moly what a rollercoaster. Mostly good changes throughout the year, albeit with some roadblocks.

One thing I'm very proud of is the amount of doomscrolling (still an actual term) I've cut back on. With 2022 being... 2022, it caused me to develop an extremely unhealthy habit of checking current events every second. I would start to wind down on it in June when I deleted my Twitter and continued to do so.

This year, while there were still some moments of doomscrolling, the amount of times I've done so is far, FAR less frequent compared to last year. I'm very proud of that. (t served as a way for me to make up for lost time doing said activity. I played more games, talked to people more, and got more tasks done during my off hours.

One thing I'm not too pleased about though is my art activity, or rather my lack of. Work and errands kept popping up. It's something I really hope to fix come next year. Hoping the rust won't be too bad when I resume drawing.

One other thing I'm proud of though... Engaging and talking to people more. Back in May. I had a bit of what some may call a "come to Jesus" moment, and would start to chat and engage more. Though there have been some slowdown within the last month, I'm very pleased with the progress I've made, and it's something I tend to work on more into next year.

This year had plenty of ups and downs, and despite everything, I feel I did a lot that was good.

I made some new friends along the way too. Some I started to chat more around the end of last year and throughout this year, others I have met very recently this month! I thank you all. Everyone, old and new, for still sticking with me.

I'd also like to give shoutouts specifically to Sonnitude and happygav123 . You two are awesome! I'm so glad to have met you two within the last year!

Some of you that have me on Discord already know this, but I may as well say it.

About two weeks ago, I rolled my ankle. Thought I could just get through it, but that wasn't the case. Nothing is broken, but it is sprained.

Because of this, I've been sidelined from work as of last Wednesday (don't worry I am being compensated).

At least the bright side to this is that for the time being I'll have more time to myself.

Still no motivation art wise, but I am much more receptive to chat now.
